Here is the Letter that I sent home with the students letting everyone know about our new Flex grouping that has started.

October 18, 2011
Greetings to all Third grade Parents:
We wanted to let you know that we have started something new in third grade- we are flex grouping for math. We are very excited about this new adventure!  Your child may have Mrs. Hendrickson or Mrs. Neumann for math. Your student’s day will remain the same, with the exception of third graders moving to different classrooms for differentiated math instruction.  Each child will receive instruction in the Minnesota State Standards in math.  They will simply be learning these standards at different times and in varying ways to meet their needs best!   We are lucky to have such a great team of staff members to assist us in helping third graders grow and learn!
Students who see Mrs. Neumann will have homework assigned almost daily and she would like it returned as soon as it is complete.  We will be able to tell you more about what this looks like at conferences coming up in November.  If you have any questions about this before the conferences, please feel free to contact us.
Thanks,
Mrs. Neumann                        379-4984
Mrs. Hendrickson                  379-5010
